Recently, customers have reported receiving phone calls or WhatsApp messages claiming to be from Easylock. The senders say their BOSCH or Lockin smart locks need to be recalled, inspected for safety, or specially serviced, and ask them to provide personal or banking information, verification codes, or even make an immediate payment.
Easylock would like to remind you that these are not official practices. Easylock will never ask customers to provide sensitive information or make any payment through calls from unfamiliar numbers or messages from unknown WhatsApp accounts. If you receive a similar message, stop before taking any action and verify it through official channels.
Common Scam Scenarios: What the Scammers Might Say
Scam messages often imitate official customer service notifications. Common claims include:
- A security vulnerability has been found in the smart lock you purchased, and it needs to be recalled.
- We are Easylock After-sales Service and need to conduct a special inspection of your lock.
- If you do not take action immediately, your home security may be affected.
- Please provide your banking information/verification code so we can arrange a refund or service.
- Please click the link below and fill out the recall registration form.
- Please pay a deposit, inspection fee, or upgrade service fee in advance.
Even if the sender knows the product model, purchase date, or installation date, that does not mean they are an official representative. Scammers may obtain some customer information through various means and then use product safety concerns as a pretext to lower customers’ guard.
What Easylock Will Never Do
Be on your guard if the sender makes any of the following requests:
- Asks for your bank account or credit card details, or your online banking verification code (OTP)
- Asks for your full ID card number, identity documents, or payment password
- Asks you to pay a recall fee, deposit, or service fee via FPS, PayMe, bank transfer, or other methods
- Asks you to click an unknown link, scan an unknown QR code, or log in to a non-official website
- Pressures you by claiming the matter is urgent or time-limited, or that failing to act will pose a security risk
Easylock only contacts customers through its published channels and will never ask customers to disclose financial information or verification codes over the phone or WhatsApp.

What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Message
Step 1: Do not reply or click
Stop the conversation. Do not click links, scan QR codes, download attachments, or provide any personal or financial information.
Step 2: Take screenshots and record the details
Save the WhatsApp conversation, caller’s number, account name, links, payment requests, and other details. These records can help with any follow-up with Easylock, your bank, or the police.
Step 3: Contact Easylock directly to verify
Contact Easylock directly via its official WhatsApp/phone number, 9745 3660, or visit https://easylock.com.hk to check whether there is a relevant announcement.
Step 4: Act immediately if you have made a payment or shared information
If you have provided banking information or a verification code, or made a payment, contact your bank or card issuer immediately to request that your account or card be frozen. Change your online banking, email, and e-wallet passwords as well.
If you suspect you have been scammed, contact the Hong Kong Police Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) Anti-Scam Helpline at 18222 for advice. If you have lost money, report it to the police as soon as possible.
Three Quick Checks
When you receive a suspicious contact, ask yourself these three questions:
| Question | Official practice | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Are they asking for sensitive information? | Only basic contact and order details are collected as needed for the service | Requests for banking information, verification codes, ID details, or payment |
| Are they urging you to act immediately? | You are given reasonable time to verify and make arrangements | Emphasis on urgency, time limits, or security risks |
| Can the contact method be verified? | It can be verified via the official website and 9745 3660 | An unfamiliar number, unknown account, or non-official link |
